Nagaland reports second COVID-19 recovery: 2 patients tested negative

Kohima, June 09 (NE): Nagaland reported it’s second recovery of two (2) COVID-19 patients, today, June 09, 2020. The two COVID-19 patients who recovered are at Chedema COVID hospital, informed additional director, H&FW, Dr. Ngangshimeren.

Today, 5 samples were tested positive for COVID-19. The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 127. Out of this, 10 patients have recovered after treatment in COVID hospital. The total active cases is 117. This is the second recovery reported in Nagaland state.

Till date, a total of 4732 samples have been tested. Results of 3518 samples have been received and the rest are awaited. A total 5922 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine, informed the Principal Secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha IAS.

It is also reported that a total of 152 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 114 samples have tested negative and result of 38 samples are awaited.

As per the severity of symptoms, out of 127 positive cases, there are 117 asymptomatic cases and 10 have recovered after treatment from the COVID Hospital, Sinha reported.

All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals, reported Sinha.

The first case of COVID-19 in Nagaland was reported on May 25, 2020 when three (3) returnees from Chennai tested positive. Within 15 days, the number of positive cases in the state rose to 127. All of the persons who tested positive for COVID-19 are returnees from various states outside Nagaland.
