Nagaland reports 28 new COVID-19 positive cases today, State tally at 3950

Kohima, August 31 (NEx): Nagaland reported 28 new COVID-19 positive cases today, August 31, 2020 taking the total tally to 3950. Active cases stands at 874.

Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom updated that 28 new COVID-19 positive cases has been confirmed in the State out of 572 samples results received today. Among the new cases detected, 14 cases are in Dimapur, 10 in Kiphire, and 4 in Kohima, informed Pangnyu.

Contact tracing have been activated by our IDSP Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation, added the Health Minister.

The State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H&FW issued segregated data of COVID-19 positive cases reported in Nagaland on August 31, 2020. Out of the new 28 cases reported, 19 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 05 returnees and 04 traced contacts were tested positive for COVID-19, it said.

With 28 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 3950 today. Out of this, 1692 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 43% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 283 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic.

The COVID-19 daily bulletin by Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, informed of 41 recoveries among the COVID-19 positive patients, 26 patients are from Dimapur, 13 from Kohima, 1 each from Kiphire and Mokokchung. Total recovery tally stands at 3058.

So far, the State has reported eight (8) deaths due to COVID-19. One death of COVID-19 patient is not due to COVID-19, 3 deaths in Dimapur are under investigation, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
