Nagaland records 54 COVID-19 recovery, active case reduces to 496

Kohima, September 08 (NEx): Nagaland reported 25 new COVID-19 positive cases and 54 recoveries of COVID-19 patients today, September 08, 2020. Total number of confirmed positive cases in the State rises to 4245. Active case stands at 496.

Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom updated that 25 new COVID-19 positive cases has been confirmed in the State today. Among the new cases detected, 21 cases are in Kohima, 2 in Mon and 1 each in Mokokchung & Kiphire.

Contact tracing have been activated by IDSP Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation, tweets Pangnyu.

According to COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, out of the new 25 cases reported, 15 positive cases are among returnees and 10 traced contacts were tested positive for COVID-19, it said.

With 25 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 4245 today. Out of this, 1823 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 43% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 309 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic. As per the severity of symptoms, 485 active cases are asymptomatic and 8 active cases are mild and 3 cases are moderate.

Meanwhile, the bulletin also informed of 54 recoveries of COVID-19 Patients in Nagaland today. Total recovery tally stands at 3728.

So far, the State has reported eight (8) deaths due to COVID-19. Two deaths of COVID-19 patient is not due to COVID-19 and 11 COVID-19 positive cases migrated, and 5 deaths in Dimapur are under investigation, informed the COVID-19 bulletin today.
