Kohima, December 12 (NEx): Nagaland reported 42 new COVID-19 positive cases today, December 12, taking the total count in the state to 11,676, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Among the new cases detected, 19 cases were detected in Dimapur, 10 in Kohima, 07 in Kiphire, 04 in Mokokchung and 02 in Peren, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 607.
The state also reported 64 recoveries from COVID-19 today where 31 patients recovered from Tuensang, 22 from Dimapur and 11 from Kohima, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 10,876. Pangnyu also cautioned all to Wear Mask, Keep Distance and Stay Safe.

Among the new cases detected today, 33 cases are from among the traced contacts, 03 returnees/travellers and 06 among armed forces/ security personnel, updated the Health Department in its daily bulletin.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4635 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 40% of the total tally, 1,816 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 16%, 4667 are traced contacts which is 39% of total cases and 558 front line workers at 05%.
As per the severity of symptoms, 565 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 28 active cases are mild, 09 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 03 active cases are severe on oxygen and 02 active cases are critical in ICU on ventilator. Also, 335 positive cases are under Home isolation in the state, the health department said.
So far, the State has reported sixty one (61) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Seven (7) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID and three (3) death cases are under investigation and 122 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
