Kohima, December 16 (NEx): Nagaland reported 26 new COVID-19 positive cases today, December 16, taking the total count in the state to 11,787, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Among the new cases detected, 11 cases were detected in Dimapur, 05 each in Kohima & Mokokchung, 02 each in Peren & Mon and 01 in Phek, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 594.
The state also reported 23 recoveries from COVID-19 today, where 14 patients recovered from Kohima, 06 from Peren and 03 patients from Dimapur, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 10,993.
26 +ve cases of # COVID-19 have detected today.
Dimapur- 11, Kohima- Mokokchung- 5 each, Mon- Peren- 2 each & Phek- 1.
Also, 23 +ve patients have recovered.
Kohima- 14, Peren- 6, Dimapur- 3.
Total +ve cases- 11787

Among the new cases detected today, 20 are from among the traced contacts and 03 among the armed forces, 02 returnees/travellers & 01 front line worker, updated the Health Department in its daily bulletin.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4641 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 39% of the total tally, 1,823 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 15%, 4762 are traced contacts which is 39% of total cases and 561 front line workers at 05%.
As per the severity of symptoms, 551 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 25 active cases are mild, 13 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 04 active cases are severe on oxygen and 01 active case is critical in ICU on ventilator.
So far, the State has reported sixty three (63) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Seven (7) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID and three (3) death cases are under investigation and 127 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
