Nagaland records 157 COVID positive cases & 39 recoveries on October 22

Kohima, October 22 (NEx): Nagaland reported 157 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 22, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 8296, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Among the new cases detected, 119 cases were detected in Dimapur, 30 in Kohima, 03 in Peren, 02 each in Kiphire & Mokokchung and 01 in Mon, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1798.

Also, the state reported 39 recoveries from COVID-19 today, out of which, 22 patients recovered from Dimapur, 10 from Peren and 07 from Kohima, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 6399.

Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 86 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel/security personnel, 08 returnees and 63 traced contacts were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3699 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 45% of the total tally, 1625 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, and 2575 are traced contacts which is 29% of total cases. As per the severity of symptoms, 1716 active cases are asymptomatic and among the symptomatic, 60 active cases are mild, 15 cases are moderate on oxygen and 04 severe on oxygen, while 03 patients are in critical condition in ICU on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported twenty one (22) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not COVID-19 related and one (1) death case is under investigation while 70 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
