Nagaland records 12 new COVID positive cases, total tally at 11,832 on Dec 18

Nagaland reported 12 new COVID-19 positive cases today, December 18, taking the total count in the state to 11,832

Kohima, December 18 (NEx): Nagaland reported 12 new COVID-19 positive cases today, December 18, taking the total count in the state to 11,832, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Among the new cases detected, 10 cases were detected in Kohima and 02 in Mokokchung, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 554.

The state also reported 05 recoveries from COVID-19 today, and all 05 patients recovered from Kohima, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 11,076.

Among the new cases detected today, all 12 cases are from among the traced contacts, updated the Health Department in its daily bulletin.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4641 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 39% of the total tally, 1,829 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 15%, 4798 are traced contacts which is 39% of total cases and 564 front line workers at 05%.

As per the severity of symptoms, 512 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 27 active cases are mild, 10 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 04 active cases are severe on oxygen and 01 active case is critical in ICU on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported sixty three (63) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Ten (10) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID and 129 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
