Dimapur, June 05 (NEx): The Nagaland Police along with the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Nagaland conducted a plantation Drive on the occassion of World Environment Day 2021 at New DC Complex, Chumukedima.
The Plantation Drive under the theme “Ecosystem Restoration” was conducted to spread awareness on environmental responsibility and to restore the ecosystem, specially during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5th for awareness and action on the protection of environment.
The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio graced the occassion and planted a sapling at new DC Complex, Chumukedima alongwith the DGP Nagaland T. John Longkumer, in commemoration of the World Environment Day, Nagaland police informed.
CM Rio taking to twitter said, ‘Planted a tree at the new DC Complex Chumukedima, in commemoration of the World Environment Day’.
He said we should restore our relationship with nature and called all to begin from our homes and support local conservation efforts.

Along with the CM and DGP Nagaland, Commisioner of Police Dimapur, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, DIG (Trg) & Camp Commander Chumukedima and a host of Senior Police Officers planted Saplings.
Further, the DGP Nagaland presented a Photo Album to the Chief Minister on the Statewide Plantation Drive carried out by 15 Armed Battalions, 12 District Executive Forces, 2 Training Institutes and other Establishments/Units of Nagaland Police.
