Nagaland Police action taken during lockdown; 1431 arrested & Rs. 5,58,000 fines collected

Kohima, May 17 (NE): An update from Nagaland Police on action taken during COVID-19 lockdown period in the state, from March 24, 2020 till May 15, 2020 records a total 1144 violations of lockdown/Curfew.

Taking to twitter, Nagaland Police on Sunday, May 17, 2020 reported the action taken during lockdown period, including the number of arrests made, vehicle seized, FIRs registered and fines collected.

Reporting on the number of arrests recorded, the police said that a total of 1431 were arrested since March 24, 2020 till today, and 05 arrests were recorded under social media cases.

It also added that 83 FIRs and 941 non-FIR cases were registered.

573 vehicles were seized for violating lockdown order and a total of rupees 5,58,000/- fine were imposed during the lockdown period since March 24, 2020.

Further, Nagaland Police made an appeal to all citizens to follow guidelines issued during the lockdown. It also urged people to Stay home and Stay safe.
