Nagaland: One Vehicle & Properties Worth Over 10 Lacs Gutted By Fire

Kohima, March 26 (NEx): The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) informed about fire incidences at Dimapur, Kohima and Peren districts on March 25th, 2021. One vehicle and properties worth over 10 lakhs have been ravaged by fire altogether.

Fire at Dimapur:

The PRO (E)(F&ES) Kenny Khing informed that a fire call was received at 04:59 pm on March 25th, 2021 at State Stadium, Dimapur.

Accordingly, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Dimapur (West) proceeded to control the fire and fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

One Vehicle was burnt in the inferno and property worth Rs.6 lakhs approximately was lost but due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and property worth Rs.1 Lakhs approximately could be salvaged, Khing said.

The cause of fire is suspected to be from vehicle wire short circuit. The fire response team was led by Duty Commander SI M. Martin Miasalhou, the PRO informed.

Jungle Fire at Chümoukedima:

A Jungle fire was reported at 01:40 pm on March 25th, 2021 from National Institute of Technology, Near Fire Station Chümoukedima, Dimapur, PRO informed.

The Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Chümoukedima proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

Due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to the surrounding.
It took the Fire Team one hour to combat the fire.

The Cause of fire could not be ascertained. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Meyiehusul Neikha, Khing said.

Jungle Fire at Kohima:

Another Jungle Fire call was received at 04:04 pm on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 from Thizama Road, Near Assembly Secretariat Main Gate.

Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kohima (North) proceeded to control the fire and fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

The PRO said that due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to the surrounding and property worth Rs.10 Lakhs approximately could be salvaged.

It took the Fire Team 20 minutes to combat the fire and the cause of fire could not be ascertained. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Inaka, Khing said.

Jungle Fire at Peren:

On the same day at Peren, Four (4) Jungle fire calls were received at different timings, the PRO F&ES said.

The First call was received at 1:30 pm, from area surrounding District Court, New Peren and three (3) more Jungle fire incidents were attended in the same evening, one near DC’s Residence at around 4:50 pm, another near SP’s Residence at 6:00 pm and one near New Peren Village Council Hall at 7 pm.

Khing said that the Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Peren proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action. Due to timely information and response, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to the surrounding and the cause of fire could not be ascertained.

Jungle Fire at Jalukie:

Further, the PRO reported of another Jungle Fire call received at 04:05 pm on March 25th, 2021 at Pellhang, Peren.

The Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Jalukie proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

He informed that Plantations crops
were destroyed in the inferno and property worth Rs.4.5 lakhs approximately was lost but due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to the surrounding. Property worth Rs.7 Lakhs approximately could be salvaged, he added.

It took Fire Team 43 minutes to combat the fire and the cause of the fire could not be ascertained. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Neikielie Keyienchu, Khing informed.
