Nagaland observes ‘National Voter’s Day’ today, January 25

Dimapur, January 25 (NE): Nagaland along with rest of India is observing National Voters Day 2020, today under the theme: “Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy.” In this regard, the state capital of Nagaland, Kohima and all other districts including sub-divisions across the state will be organizing various events to mark the day.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to twitter to remind ourselves to use our suffrage, for good, which is of utmost importance in a Democracy. Let us be agents of change by creating awareness about the importance of informed participation in the electoral process, CM Rio tweets.

Nagaland Deputy CM Y Patton and other Legislators greets the voters on the occasion of ‘National Voter’s Day’

A notification received here said that the activities among others would be, felicitation of newly registered young voters & giving due recognition to those people who have made notable contributions in improving the electoral processes. All other Government Departments and offices are also organizing functions where National Voter’s Day Pledge will be administered.

It is important to note that the day is organized to mark the foundation day of National Election Commission of India.
