Kohima, February 04 (NEx): The Principal Secretary to Government of Nagaland issued an advisory to close the National Highway 29 at the stretch of road between Chathe river bridge (Patkai Bridge) to Kukidolong from February 2nd, 2021, till further orders.
The advisory from Principal Secretary Abhijit Sinha, IAS said that in view of heavy rockslides between Chumukedima police Check post till new Chumukedima village on NH-29 in Dimapur district, the road between the stretch of road between Chathe river bridge (Patkai Bridge) to Kukidolong has been closed from February 2nd, 2021, till further orders, as a precautionary measure to prevent any injury, loss of life and damage to property.
The general public is advised to take the alternative route from Dimapur to Kohima/Kohima to Dimapur for light or medium vehicles only, which is available via 7th Mile – New DC office – Shokhuvi – Razaphe – Mhaikam – Pimla – Mhainamtsi – Jhornapani / Medziphema and vice versa.
The PS also notified that the route is only for light and medium vehicles. For heavy vehicles, alternative route from Merapani- Doyang- Wokha (NH-2)- Kohima route. Vehicles coming from North of Assam bound for Kohima and beyond may also take the same route, it said.
