Kohima: Nagaland Governor P.B Acharya said youths are the pillar of every section of the society. He said this during the felicitation programme of HSLC and HSSLC toppers and rank holders today at Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Congratulating to the HSLC and HSSLC toppers, the Governor said with seven hundred schools all over Nagaland, it is a great weapon for the state to nurture young students in building a better Nagaland. Stating that with the increase of unemployment in the state, Acharya said the government is unable to provide jobs to all and thus, entrepreneurship can help in this aspect.
He therefore called upon the youths to take up entrepreneurship and not to confine their minds with only government jobs. The Governor further emphasised that schools and universities ultimate aim should not just be giving a degree, but to impart skillful education to the students.
Advisor of School Education, K.T. Sukhalu in his short speech urged the teachers and the school management to direct the path of the students and encourage them so that they will not be bewildered in what they want in life.
CEO Entrepreneurs Associates, Kohima Neichute Doulo also gave a glimpse of the impacts of entrepreneurship and how it can change the society. He said, it is time to give another world to the young people, which is the world of entrepreneurship. Doulo encouraged the youths to become entrepreneurs by bringing a change to the society.
Nagaland Post Editor in chief, Geoffrey Yaden in his speech highlighted on the significance of work culture. He said without work culture, a person cannot have a meaningful progress in life. He further said that it is also important to serve people, which need to be encouraged for prosperity of the society.
Both the Governor’s award and NBSE award for the toppers of HSLC and HSSLC carries cash prizes of Twenty five Thousand and a certificate each. While, subject toppers in MILs and Skill education were given cash award of Two thousand rupees and a gift worth of one thousand each.
