Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister extends Sükrünye greetings

Kohima, January 14 (NE): The Governor of Nagaland and Meghalaya, Shri RN Ravi and Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio extends greetings to the people of Nagaland especially the Chakhesang community on the occasion of Sükrünye festival.

Governor Ravi stated that Sükrünye is one of the most significant festivals of the Chakhesang community and wished the community for prosperity in all spheres of life and prayed to Almighty to bring about success to the people of the State in general. He observed that the rich culture and tradition of the Nagas need to be preserved and promoted while keeping pace with modernity.

He added that the festival should be a source for building unity and called upon everyone to come together in our common enterprise of building a happy and prosperous Nagaland.

The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Shri. Neiphiu Rio also wished the Chakhesang community through Twitter: “Happy Sükrünye to the Chakhesang community of Nagaland. May the celebration revive age-old good customs, practices and values and be a harbinger of blessed beginnings in the lives of everyone”, tweeted the CM.
