Nagaland government declares 2-days State mourning for CM Chang

Nagaland government has declared two days State mourning throughout Nagaland on October 13 and 14, 2020 as a mark of respect for Minister CM Chang, who passed away on Monday

Kohima, October 13 (NEx): Nagaland government has declared two days State mourning throughout Nagaland on October 13 and 14, 2020 as a mark of respect for Minister CM Chang, who passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020.

The Government informed that during the period of State mourning, national flag will be flown half mast throughout the State, where it is regularly flown, and there will be no official entertainment during the period. State funeral will be accorded to the departed leader. State govt request all to take action accordingly.

Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Justice and Law, CM Chang, passed away on Monday afternoon at Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima. He was 77. State Health officials confirmed that CM Chang had contracted COVID-19 besides other health issues. He was the sitting MLA of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) from 51-Noksen assembly constituency.
