Nagaland Fire dept. swings into action to avert Two jungle fire on April 02

Kohima, April 02 (NE): Nagaland Fire & Emergency department swing into action to avert jungle fire at Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, Kohima and WTC Garbage Dumping area, Merapani Road, Wokha on April 02, 2020.

On receiving information of jungle fire at Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, Kohima on April 02, 2020, Fire & Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Kohima North under the commander ASI, Neitho-u Keditsu.

The reason for the fire incident is unknown, few acres stretch of forest was destroyed by the fire. However, due to timely response from fire team, averted any eventuality and brought under control and also controlled further spread of the fire. There was no casualty, said a press release.

In another incident of jungle fire at WTC Garbage Dumping area, Merapani Road, Wokha on April 02, 2020, Fire & Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Wokha, pressed 2 WTPs into action under the commander ASI, Bentik Konyak and SI Keleseho S Tsiikrii.

The fire incident occurred due to Garbage burning at the dumping site which spread further to the adjoining forest/jungle. However, due to timely response from fire team, averted any eventuality and brought the fire under control and also from further spreading to the adjoining forest and villages. There was no casualty, added the release.
