Kohima, May 28 (NEx): The High Powered committee on COVID-19, Government of Nagaland, has extended the lockdown across the State for 11 more days till June 11, 2021, Government Spokespersons on COVID-19, Mmhonlumo Kikon informed on Friday.
This is the second time the High Powered Committee extended the lockdown in the State of Nagaland. Earlier, a Week-long complete lockdown was imposed across Nagaland on May 14th, 2021, till May 21, 2021, which was later extended for 10 more days till May 31st, 2021 due to the prevailing situation of the pandemic.
Government Spokespersons on COVID-19, Mmhonlumo Kikon today informed that, High Powered Committee on COVID-19 has decided to extend the Lockdown in Nagaland till June 11th, 2021, on the basis of the advisory given by the Health & Family Welfare Department.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary, J Alam IAS, in an order stated the existing guidelines with regards to the lockdown to remain operative in Nagaland till June 11,2021.
Nagaland has recorded a total of 21,023 COVID positive cases, 326 deaths related to COVID-19 and 15,124 recoveries till date. The active cases in the State stands at 4941, the Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom updated on Thursday.
