Nagaland detected 14 new cases of COVID-19 today, tally nears 12,000 mark

Nagaland detected 14 new COVID-19 positive cases today, taking the total count in the state to 11,911

Kohima, December 28 (NEx): Nagaland detected 14 new COVID-19 positive cases today, taking the total count in the state to 11,911, updated Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. The total tally of positive cases nears the 12,000 mark.

Out of the new cases detected today, 05 cases were in Mokokchung, 03 in Peren and 02 each in Dimapur, Kiphire & Kohima. Also, 13 cases detected today are from among the traced contacts and 01 is a returnee/ traveller. Active cases stands at 243.

The state also recorded 20 recoveries of COVID-19 patients, taking the total count to 11,458. Out of the total recoveries, 06 patients each recovered from Kohima & Mokokchung, 05 from Dimapur and 03 from Tuensang, update Pangnyu.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4649 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 39% of the total tally, 1,835 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 15%, 4861 are traced contacts which is 41% of total cases and 566 front line workers at 05%.

As per the severity of symptoms, 220 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 15 active cases are mild, 03 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 01 active cases are severe on oxygen and 04 is critical in ICU and on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported sixty nine (69) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Ten (10) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID and 131 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
