Nagaland detected 11 new positive cases of COVID-19 today, tally nears 12000 mark

Kohima, January 09 (NEx): Nagaland detected 11 new positive cases of COVID-19 today, January 09, 2021, taking the total count to 11,975, updated the health minister S Pangnyu Phom. Out of which, 07 cases were detected in Dimapur and 02 each in Kohima & Mokokchung

Also, 09 cases were detected from among the traced contacts, 01 among frontline workers and 01 from among returnees/travellers. Active cases stands at 112.

The state also recorded 25 new recoveries of COVID-19 patients today, taking the total count in the state to 11,639, updated Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Out of the total recoveries today, 14 recoveries were from Kohima, 07 from Dimapur and 04 from Mokokchung.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4658 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 39% of the total tally, 1,844 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 15%, 4905 are traced contacts which is 41% of total cases and 568 front line workers at 05%.

As per the severity of symptoms, 90 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 12 active cases are mild, 05 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 01 active cases are severe on oxygen and 02 is critical in ICU with oxygen and 02 is on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported seventy four (74) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Ten (10) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID, 01 deaths are under investigation and 139 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
