Kohima, January 08 (NEx): Nagaland detected 04 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dimapur today, January 08, 2021, taking the total count to 11,964, updated the health minister S Pangnyu Phom.
Also, 03 cases were detected from among the traced contacts and 01 from among returnees/travellers. Active cases stands at 127.

The state also recorded 04 new recoveries of COVID-19 patients today, taking the total count in the state to 11,614, updated Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Out of the total recoveries today, 02 recoveries were from Mokokchung and 01 each from Dimapur & Peren.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 4657 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is 39% of the total tally, 1,844 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 15%, 4896are traced contacts which is 41% of total cases and 567 front line workers at 05%.
As per the severity of symptoms, 97 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 18 active cases are mild, 05 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 01 active case is severe on oxygen and 02 is critical in ICU with oxygen and 04 is on ventilator.
So far, the State has reported seventy three (73) deaths of COVID-19 patients, Ten (10) deaths of COVID-19 are not related to COVID, 02 deaths are under investigation and 138 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
