The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio undertook an aerial survey of Dzukou Valley on January 5th, 2021, to survey the latest forest fire situation at Dzukou valley

Kohima, January 06 (NEx): The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio undertook an aerial survey of Dzukou Valley on January 5th, 2021, to survey the latest forest fire situation at Dzukou valley.

CM Rio in tweet said, ‘Made an aeriel survey of the latest forest fire situation at Dzukou valley today. Seeing the tremendous joint efforts by all concerned to tackle the situation, I am hopeful that the fire will soon be doused’.

He also said that the destruction of God-given beauty and resources of the Dzukou valley is sad. I hope we will all strive to support the efforts of preserving and promoting the rich biodiversity of the valley and learn to live in harmony with nature, Rio tweets.

A press release issued by Chief Minister’s Office said that the Chief Minister witnessed the burnt patches in the valley and portions of the forest fire which were still raging. Rio also observed the ongoing ground operations carried out by both the State and Central agencies namely SDRF, personnel of the Forest department, Nagaland Police, NDRF along with Southern Angami Youth Organisation volunteers for making a traditional fire line cutting to contain the fire and protect the valley.

The Chief Minister appreciated the tremendous joint efforts by all concerned to tackle the situation.
