Nagaland celebrates Hindi Diwas

Dimapur, September 14, (NE): Nagaland today celebrated Hindi Diwas with rest of Indian states in different places particularly led by Central Government Departments along with Government of Nagaland and others.

It is observed as Hindi Diwas to popularize the Hindi language in the country.

Likewise in Dimapur a function was held with programs comprising songs, recitation of poems, besides speeches by various dignitaries to mark the day.

In the event that held at Stone Sculpture Garden, NEZCC, 4 Mile, Dimapur, various schools including colleges attended.

The special guest was President, Vidya Bharti, Nagaland, Shri Walenniba Jamir; welcome address was given by Director, NEZCC, Dimapur, Shri Jitul Sonowal.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton said in his tweet; as the county celebrates Hindi Diwas, I join Union HM Shri Amit Shah and appeal to the people to communicate more using our own mother tongues, and at the same time use Hindi too. Let’s not see the celebration as an imposition of Hindi, but rather a unifying language.
