Nagaland beat Arunachal Pradesh in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21

Kohima, March 02 (NEx): The Round 5, Plate match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21 was played between Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh at the VB Nest Cricket Academy, Chennai on Monday.

Nagaland senior men’s cricket team beat Arunachal pradesh by 7 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21, at Chennai.

Arunachal won the toss and went on to bat first and scored 285 runs with a loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs, while, Nagaland managed to score 287 runs with a loss of 3 wickets in 42.1 overs.

Meanwhile, SS Mundhe took 4 wickets while Hopongkyu Sangtam and Khrievitso Kense took 1 wicket each. Jonathan Rongsen scored 113 runs for the team while SS Mundhe scored 102 runs and Stuart Binny scored 55 runs (Not out).

With the last match played yesterday, Nagaland is placed at 4th spot with 16 points having won 4 matches out of 5.

The Hon’ Secretary Nagaland Cricket Association, Hyunilo Khing in a tweet said, “A very encouraging campaign by the boys at the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. Winning 4 out of 5 matches played. Defeated Arunachal by 7 wickets in the last match today”.
