Nagaland awakened with loud crackers as bell struck 12 on December 1, midnight

Dimapur, December 2 (NE): Nagaland was awake on December one last with loud bursting of crackers – to mark the arrival of the month of Christmas like other years. Not just in Dimapur, but according to an information, the crackers were used in many districts too.

According to social media report, the bursting have made a different story, as this year, even during festival of lights – the Diwali, crackers were not used much except low cracking ones (without noise). If this goes, it is evident that more crackers may be used during the real Christmas Day including the New Year – albeit the restrictions going on for using crackers.

The law enforcers through respective district administration may get a hard time to control on this regard in Nagaland. The Government on the other hand, including likeminded NGOs and activists are only sharing opinion for a less polluted environment. The rest will be individual’s choice of whether to keep the environment healthy or a polluted environment to be. The choice has to be made now by concerned individuals in the society. Even for the Government it will be headache to act further. But, its always good to care and follow the instructions, said an activist who doesn’t want to be named on condition of anonymity.

This year especially during Diwali, the air pollution was minimum, quoted a government official. And as of now, the climate situation is good, if compared to other states; but the current trend of climate in Dimapur and other districts of Nagaland is disturbing, added government official with expression of cautions.
