‘Nagaland Against CAA’ – Public protest against CAA at Dimapur on January 18

Kohima, January 16 (NE): ‘Nagaland Against CAA’, an uprising against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) led by the Naga public is organizing a protest against CAA at Supermarket, Dimapur on January 18, 2020.

The protest has no political color. It is strictly apolitical and it will be a peaceful one. The protest will consist of not only speeches but will include music, skits and on the spot paintings, informed a press release from the organising committee.

When the whole country is in an uproar, Nagaland cannot remain silent, so it is a request to the public to show your solidarity with the rest of the country and participate in the protest. The protest starts at 10 a.m, it added.

As NagalandExpress reported earlier, the whole things started in a Facebook page. Within few days the page has got more than 17,000 members and it is the fastest growing Facebook page in Nagaland. Perhaps, the nature of the issue this group stands for, is gaining ground among the Nagas spontaneously. May be this gives a hint on where Nagaland stands on the sensitive CAA issue.
