Nagaland: 816 Beneficiaries Vaccinated with COVISHIELD on Feb 9th

Kohima, February 10 (NEx): A total of 816 beneficiaries were vaccinated across the state on February 09, 2021, including 62 Healthcare workers (HCWs) and 754 Frontline workers (FLWs) from administration, police, etc.

A total of 7587 (6453 Healthcare workers + 1134 frontline workers) were vaccinated till date, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland.

Dr. Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland informed that, the vaccination drive was conducted successfully across the state without any adverse events that needed medical attention.

Also, Dr. Thurr said that till date, more than 6.2 million beneficiaries have been vaccinated safely across the country by COVISHIELD and COVAXIN vaccines. The rise of SARS COV-2 variants across the world points to the need of urgently scaling up immunization across the state and the globe and both vaccines approved in the country are highly efficacious and safe, the SIO said.
