Nagaland: 5043 stranded people reached back by special trains

A total of 5043 stranded people of Nagaland outside the state have reached Nagaland by special trains arranged by the State governments

Kohima, June 08 (NE): A total of 5043 stranded people of Nagaland outside the state have reached Nagaland by special trains arranged by the State governments. Another batch of 1400 people is scheduled to arrive on June 12, 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Nagaland Government have collected the details of the distressed people of Nagaland who wants to return to the State. Government has been ferrying its people from across the country by special trains and buses.

A total of 5043 people have already arrived Nagaland through special trains arranged by the government from nine (9) states across India. 1400 more people are scheduled to arrive in another special train on June 12, 2020 from three South Indian states.

5043 stranded persons arrived by specially arranged trains:

*Chennai- Dimapur: Started on May 19 and arrived on May 22, carrying 1289 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Jaipur to Jiribam: Started on May 26 and arrived on May 28, carrying 370 stranded persons of Nagaland. From Jiribam to Dimapur they were transported in special buses arranged by the State government.

*Gurugram to Dimapur: Started on May 22 and arrived on May 25 carrying 410 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Vijayawada to Dimapur: Started on May 26 and arrived on May 28 carrying 72 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Goa to Dimapur: Arrived on June 01 with 435 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Rajasthan to Guwahati : Started on June 01 and arrived Dimapur on June 03, with 17 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Bangalore to Dimapur : Started on June 02 and arrived Dimapur on June 05, with 1501 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Gujarat & Maharashtra: Started on June 05 and arrived Dimapur on June 09, with 949 stranded persons of Nagaland.

Expected arrival on June 12:

*Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Telangana to Dimapur : Scheduled to start on June 09 and expected to arrive Dimapur on June 12, with 1400 stranded persons of Nagaland.

682 stranded persons arrived specially arranged by buses:

A total of 682 stranded persons have already arrived Nagaland by special buses arranged by the government from 8 states across India. 53 more people are scheduled to arrive on June 09, 2020 from three (3) States.

*Kolkata to Dimapur: 4 buses arrived on May 29 with 128 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Amritsar, Punjab to Dimapur: 3 buses arrived on May 29 with 93 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Uttarakhand to Dimapur: 4 buses arrived on June 2 with 101 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Himachal to Dimapur: 2 buses arrived on June 06 with 41 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Chandigarh to Dimapur: 3 buses arrived on June 06 with 88 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Chattisgarh – Odisha to Dimapur : 1 bus arrived on June 04 with 37 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Uttar Pradesh to Dimapur: 6 buses arrived on June 06 with 165 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Jammu & Kashmir to Dimapur: 1 bus arrived on June 07 with 29 stranded persons of Nagaland.

Arriving today:

*Madhya Pradesh to Dimapur: 1 bus is expected to arrive at Dimapur on June 09 from Madhya Pradesh with 36 stranded persons of Nagaland.

*Jharkhand & Bihar to Dimapur: 1 bus expected to arrive Dimapur on June 09 with 17 stranded persons of Nagaland.

Apart from this, special buses from North Eastern States also transported the stranded citizens of Nagaland.
