Nagaland: 38 positive cases reported last week, no COVID death reported for 3 weeks

Kohima, February 08 (NEx): The Department Of Health And Family Welfare, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, Nagaland on Saturday informed that 38 positive cases of COVID-19 were reported from the past week and there have been no COVID reported deaths for 3 consecutive weeks.

It was also reported that the weekly sample positivity rate slightly increased from 2% to 4% from the past week and the maximum category of cases continues to be from the Traced Contacts/ Self Test category. Recovery rate is at 97 % in the state which is the same with India’s recovery rate.

The department also said that the positivity remains high at Flu Clinics/ self-test who come for testing without any history of contact like people who have symptoms, for travel / other medical treatment constituting about 15% of all cases from the community.

Meanwhile, a total of 6,311 beneficiaries have been vaccinated by the COVISHIELD Vaccine across the state, the report read. Vaccination for frontline workers other than healthcare workers have started in the state, and no adverse events needing medical intervention have been reported in the state, the department affirmed.
