Nagaland: 256 Healthcare Workers Vaccinated In Kohima district on Jan 22nd

Kohima, January 22 (NEx): On the 6th day of vaccination in Nagaland, 256 healthcare workers were vaccinated today, January 22nd, 2021 in Kohima district with special permission to conduct the vaccination drive, although the MoHFW has directed districts to conduct the COVID-19 vaccination on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to ensure routine immunization activities is carried out on other days.

A total of 4480 Healthcare workers, including Doctors, Nurses and support staff were vaccinated across all districts in Nagaland, till date, informed Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland, today.

Dr. Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland informed that, on the sixth day of the vaccination drive today, January 22nd, 2021, the vaccination was conducted across 07 session sites and 256 healthcare workers were vaccinated in Kohima district.The vaccination drive will continue on Monday, SIO notified.

Also, Dr. Thurr said that the Covishield vaccine has undergone all preclinical and clinical trails and is safe for use in general population.
