Kohima, March 20 (NE): The Naga Students’ Federation organised a short program today on March 20, 2020 in honour of the two martyrs, Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü of Kohima Village and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü of Kigwema Village. Eno Kegwayhun Tep, Secretary Education, NSF chaired the program while Dr. Kevichalie Metha, Pastor, Perachiezie Baptist Church, Kohima said the invocation prayer. NSF President, Eno Ninoto Awomi delivered a short tribute to the martyrs and led the wreath laying ceremony on the graves of the martyrs, said a social media notification by NSF.

It may be recalled that Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü succumbed to the indiscriminate firing upon the peaceful agitating students by the armed police forces from Alichen while protesting against the extension of the Disturbed Areas Act (DAA) — from the 5 km belt to 20 km along the Indo-Burma border and the introduction of the Indian Police Service cadre in Nagaland (which focussed on inducting non-Nagas), it stated.

The program was attended by the family members of the two martyrs, NSF Officials, Angami Students’ Union (ASU) and All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) officials.
