Naga Hospital Establishes District Early Intervention Centre for Children between Zero to 18 Years of Age

Kohima: District Early Intervention Centre, DEIC has been established at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima with basic facilities to conduct tests for hearing, vision, behavioural assessments, etc, for children within the targeted group of Zero to 18 years of age.

In a release State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Diethono Nakhro said that as per information received from Mission Director of National Health Mission Nagaland, the assessments will be free of cost while aid for secondary and tertiary care at the empanelled hospitals will be as per Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram model costing.

She said that the objective is early identification and early intervention for children to cover the four Ds – defects at birth, diseases, deficiency conditions and developmental delays including disabilities.

She also informed the public to avail the services offered by DEIC at Naga Hospital Kohima.
