Kohima, July 25 (NEx): Mon district launched Rapid Antigen Test Kit on July 24 at Walo Guest House, Mon Town. Hon’ble Minister P. Paiwang Konyak donated to buy a 1000 (one thousand) Anti- Body Test Kits for Mon District. Kits will be distributed to border sub-divisions like Tizit, Tobu & Wakching.

Medical Officers will train the staffs to utilise the newly launched Rapid Antigen Kit in the remotest part of the sub- divisions where it is difficult to collect the samples. It will be utilised in the remotest part for persons in the contact tracing list and in containment zones, sources informed.

In case of emergency, if the Task Force desire, the Rapid Antigen Test Kit will also be utilised without any charges, said a source.

Meanwhile, 1000 Rapid Antigen Test Kits are available at Mon currently, and the Konyak MLAs assured to buy more.

Sources said that, all returnees from outside the District will be given an option to be tested either by TrueNat or Rapid Antigen Kit for COVID. For Rapid Antigen Kit Test, the cost of the kit will be charged Rs. 504 per kit.

The Govt sponsored returnees and frontline workers will be tested only with TrueNat and later RT-PCR for confirmation at ICMR for COVID-19.

Antibody test kits are utilized to determine if somebody was previously infected or indicative of adaptive immunity. It detects IgG antibodies indicative of SARS – CoV-2 suitable for Serological Surveillance Studies.
