Mon, November 14 (NE): Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS through a notification informed on the strict measures to protect Amur Falcon in Mon district on Wednesdy, November 13, 2019.
Reminding that the Amur Falcon are protected under the Widlife Protection Act 1972, hunting, trapping, killing or selling of Amur Falcon for food or possession or otherwise could lead to three years of imprisonment or a fine of Rs. 25,000/- or both under the Section 51 of the said Act.
DC Mon further added that It has come to the notice of the undersigned, that some unscrupulous villagers have been hunting, trapping and killing Amur Falcon in Mon district.
In this regards, all the Administrative officers and Village Councils under the Mon district are directed to give wide publicity in their respective jurisdictions and strictly enforce this order along with police and forest department, it added.
