Kohima, April 12 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir sealed off seven (7) houses in Mokokchung Town on Saturday, April 10th, in view of the detection and confirmation of COVID-19 positive case and in the larger interest of public health and safety and to carry out intensive contact tracing to contain the spread of the virus.
The containment Zone includes the following houses:
House No 321, 225 & 340 Kumlong Ward, House No 246 (ABC) Kumlong Ward, House No 296 (Block 3) Kumlong Ward, House No 222 (A/B), Kumlong Ward, House No 54, Mongsenbai Ward, Mokokchung Town.
The DC said that the Containment Zone is mapped and cordonned off and advised the public and all concerned to follow all safety precautions of wearing mask all the time, frequently washing hands and maintaining social/physical distance to ensure public and personal safety within the proximity of the Containment Zone.
He also cautioned that failure to comply with the aforementioned guidelines shall attract penalization under Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and relevant section of IPC.
Meanwhile, one death has been reported from Mokokchung as per the bulletin update from the health and family welfare department on Sunday.
