'Misinterpretation of the Framework Agreement cannot be the basis for Naga solution"- ENWWU

Kohima, March 22 (NEx): The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) had its General Session- cum- Thanksgiving on March 19th, 2021 at the Council Hall, Showuba.
The ENNWU making it’s stand clear on the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks stated, “Misinterpretation of the Framework Agreement cannot be the basis for Naga solution”.

The ENNWU in a press release mentioned that resolving the Naga political issue would have political meaning if it is based on the Framework Agreement of the 3rd August, 2015 and stated that it will not accept Naga solution outside the Framework Agreement. It also expressed strong resentment against the statement given by the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah when the Nagaland Chief Minister Mr. Neiphiu Rio and Opposition leader Mr. TR Zeliang met him.

Kilonser, Angba Konyak, in his Thanksgiving address thanked the Government for placing their trust in the ENNWU and assigning Mr. Thsanfu, Kilonser as the Caretaker CAO of UT. He also thanked the Government for electing Mr. Tongmeth Wangnao as the Vice-President, GPRN and Mr. S Among Lim as the Cabinet Secretary, and selecting Collective Leadership Members representing all the Regions under the ENNWU namely, TT Among Sangtam, B Moba Chang, Tokim Tikhir, Shahoto Yimchunger, M Longshen Khiamniungan, Alam Konyak & Meyong Phom.

Member of the Collective Leadership, Alam Konyak, spoke on the need to unite all the Eastern Nagas regardless of territorial demarcations. Mr. B. Moba Chang, Hon’ble Member of the Collective Leadership too stressed for the unity of the ENNWU. A new team of office bearers were also selected through a nominating committee, the release said.
