Dimapur, December 07 (NEx): Dimapur police arrested one person for sexually assaulting a minor girl on December 05, 2020. The accused has been identified as Bokato Achumi, resident of Padampukhuri, Dimapur.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, PRO, Relo Aye in a press release today informed that the victim was returning home after shopping when the accused waylaid her for a lift in his auto rickshaw. The accused then took and sexually assaulted her in a hotel. The victim however managed to alert her family members.
Subsequently, the accused was arrested by the police and a case has been registered under Women Police Station, Dimapur under relevant sections of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
