Dimapur, March 26 (NEx): The Minister of Higher Education, and Tribal Affairs, Government of Nagaland, Shri Temjen Imna Along called for the revision of educational mindset of the educators and thus the general public.

He said this at the inaugural of a two-day national seminar on the National Education Policy (NEP)2020: challenges to the North East, at St Joseph University, Dimapur on Friday, March 26th, 2021, a press release from the PRO informed.

The Minister said that utility of education has to be well being of the students and welfare of the society and education to be meaningful has to be providing a self-reliant attitude. He decried that the most disappointed group of people in the state are the educated persons because it has to be greatly unproductive to make one have a sense of seamless opportunities. The one who wants everything and does not want to work hard will remain with wishes and does not achieve anything. So the need of the hour today is that the students need to aspire to inculcate an attitude of constant hard work. Work to study, work to know each other, work to make one’s own life, work to make others’ lives better. It is a world of work that we have as a global community, Imna said.

He also referred to the possibility of uninterrupted education as the best characteristic of the new policy, and said if implemented with commitment there will be long lasting effect for the future to come.

Dr. Ganadurai the Vice-Chancellor welcoming the guests called upon the community of educators to identify the most beneficial outcome of the new policy and to deliberate on the ways to implement it with utmost precision, while Dr. Imkongsenla Longkumer opined that there is a vision to be transformed as a commission for action in the NEP 2020. The concerted efforts of the fraternity of educators can achieve untold heights if the pursuit is steady.

Also, Professor Charles Ezung appreciated the Minister as a lawmaker for being the multi-talented person as an inspiring leader for the days to come.

Fr Savariappan, the PRO presented the brief plan of the university as an educational institution dedicated to the service of society, Dr. Behera proposed the vote of thanks and Sr Thianes, the Deputy Registrar lead everyone in prayer.
