Nagaland Minister for Planning and Co-ordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu visited Brazil, the largest coffee producing country in the world and South Africa recently to study coffee plantation.
In a press release, the Minister stated that coffee can boom in Nagaland. He said, the right type for the right altitude is most important so that the growers can excel.
During his visit to these countries, Kronu interacted with farm owner’s intellectuals and entrepreneurs. Kronu stated that besides coffee, the State economy can be improved through spices like cardamom, black pepper and honey production.
Apart from these, he said bamboo can also be one of the main economies that the state can produce. In this regard, Kronu expressed appreciation to Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for taking the initiative on Bamboo at the right time with Taiwan Government.
