Dimapur, February 2 (NE): Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) Chief, Shri Conrad Sangma completed his tour to Nagaland and Manipur today, February Two. Briefing media persons before leaving for Shillong at Niathu Resort, Dimapur, Chief Minister said the tour was mainly focused on party organisation and to take stock of the political situation in the region. He said, the party will continue to make such tour in future so as to strengthen the party organisation.
Meghalaya CM said, NPP is the first party from the North east to be recognized as a national party and it will continue to raise the issues and concerns of the people of the region. He said NPP had resolved to support the ongoing political negotiations between the Naga political groups and the Government of India. Sangma added that the entire region is looking forward for the final agreement and urged upon all stakeholders and Government of India to ensure that the agreement is reached. Earlier, the Party Chief called on Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, Opposition Leader, TR Zeliang and Governor R.N Ravi and discussed various issues.
Meanwhile, Shri Conrad added, “Concluding my stay at Nagaland by meeting with our party members at the beautiful Niathu Resort in Dimapur, where I was treated to a wonderful lunch. It was a pleasure to meet and interact with our Garo brothers and sisters from Dimapur and members of the women and youth wing of NPP. The hospitality in our North East has always been praised by people from around the world and I feel honoured to be in the midst of such generosity. It would be incomplete without thanking the Nagaland State Protocol and Police team for their service. Thank you for your cooperation and efficiency in ensuring my safety during the stay.
