Literary Day observed at Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Phek on March 5

Dimapur, March 06 (NE): Literary day on the theme “Gender Equality in Health, education and job opportunities” was conducted at Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Phek, which was organised by Phek District Administration and DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao on March Five.

In a notification available to NagalandExpress, it said, altogether 50 students from various schools participated. Rhiveu Tsuzuh from Bishop Abraham Memorial School bagged first prize in extempore speech whereas Rebecca from Christian Mission Higher secondary school and Vazulu from Royal foundation got 2nd n 3rd positions respectively. In quiz competitions, Christian Mission higher secondary school bagged first position, Bishop Abraham Memorial School & Royal Foundation School stood 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The program was chaired by Miss Veposelu Naroh, District Coordinator, DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra, Phek. Shri Lolly Bashu Principal of CHMSS, Phek exhorted the students. He appreciated the district Administration DLCW- Mahila Shakti Kendra phek for providing platform to students to participate for the benefit of students. Smti N Bhavani, IAS , SDO (Civil) and nodal officer, BBBP Phek in her speech highlighted that Nagaland is performing well in terms of gender equality in education.

However, a lot more need to be done to bring gender equality in property rights. She also mentioned that social change has to happen from within the society and naga women have to stand up for their rights. The literary program will be carried forward in all 7 blocks within Phek District, which is scheduled to be conducted before March Twelve through Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland.
