Dimapur, June 17 (NE): A special Shramik Train carrying 580 stranded people from Delhi reached Dimapur on June 16, 2020.
The returnees were received at the railway station by APC Nagaland who is also incharge of Dimapur district COVID-19 activities, Kikheto Sema, IAS, along with DC Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS, Secretary Food and Civil Supplies, Honje Konyak, Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetso, CMO Dimapur Dr. Tiasunep, government officials from different departments and church leaders.
Out of 580 passengers, 211 were from Dimapur, 28 from Mon, 41 from Tuensang, 5 from Longleng, 18 from Kiphire, 53 from Phek, 24 from Zunheboto, 12 from Mokokchung, 27 from Wokha, 96 from Peren and 65 from Kohima.
After medical screening at the railway station all the returnees were sent to their respective districts after providing food packs while people from Dimapur were taken to Agri expo for undergoing required protocols. All returnees will be quarantined as per SOP at their respective districts.
It may be mentioned that this will be the last special train arranged by the government of Nagaland for carrying stranded Naga people to Nagaland.
Team Dimapur has been receiving returnees arriving by special trains arranged by the Government of Nagaland from across the state, with team spirit and the special train which arrived Dimapur at 12:20 noon on June 16, was the 7th special train and would also probably be the last special train.
Meanwhile, the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) of Dimapur served breakfast to all the Bus drivers and Transportation Committee who are assigned to a chain of duties related to the Returnees as they awaited the arrival of the Shramik special train from New Delhi on June 16, 2020.
The YWCA also served breakfast to the officers and Traffic personnel at the Dimapur Traffic Control Room.
After the arrival of the Special Shramik train, the Team served light refreshments to Team Dimapur COVID-19 at the Railway station.
