KVK initiates a step towards doubling farmer’s income

Kohima, October 25 (NEx): Nagaland University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra under the mission to double the farmer’s income had adopted Zhaphumi village of Akuluto block in Zunheboto District.

A press release from the KVK Zunheboto, Nagaland University, Lumami said that KVK had implemented several technological interventions to improve the income of the farming community in line with the mission.

The farmers had expressed their interest towards poultry production and KVK led by its Sr. Scientist and Head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, along with the staffs of KVK took the initiative and provided the inputs in the form of Chicks, Poultry equipments and feeds today.

The whole village including each household of Zhaphumi has been provided with chicks and is expected that the farmers will be able to generate income by selling the matured birds, at the same time household requirement of meat will be fulfilled, the press release said.

It also said that farmers will become Atmanirbhar and the KVK mission to double the farmers income will be achieved.
