Kohima, March 03 (NEx): The department of Youth Resources and Sports organized one day district level Inter-High School literary competition in essay writing and quiz on the topic “The internet created to be a change” and “Different forms of addiction among students”, at Lower Forest colony Community Hall, today.
During the programme, District Youth Resource Officer Chubarenla Longchari in said that the Inter-High School literary competition aims in broadening and enhancing the students’ commutative skills, verbal and written skills and expression. She encouraged the students saying that whether you win or lose, both ways you are going home with more knowledge or with something perhaps you didn’t know. “Winner is just a title and fades away but the knowledge is what you gain” she added.
Schools participating in the competition included Chandmari Hr. Sec. School, Mt. Hermon, Stella Hr. Sec. School and Northfield.
The judges for the competition were Dr. Moaakum Kichu, Asst. Prof. Dept. Of Botany Kohima Science College and Mrs. K. Alibo Achumi Asst. Prof. Dept. of Sociology St. Joseph’s College Jakhama.
The result of the essay competition are as follows:
In Essay competition, Emao M. Lam from Chandmari Hr. Sec. School bagged the first position, while Hisinle Kemp from Stella Hr. Sec. School and Kechanei-u Huozha from Northfield bagged second and third respectively.
In the quiz competition, the first position was bagged by Mt. Hermon School, while Northfield and Stella Hr. Sec School bagged the second and third positions respectively.
