Kohima: Odd-Even Traffic System Imposed Within Containment Zones

Kohima, May 05 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, ordered that the movement of private vehicles shall be allowed to ply on ODD-EVEN system in the declared containment zones of Kohima Municipal Council and New Capital Complex.

The ODD-EVEN system shall come into force with effect from 7:00 PM of May 5th, 2021 and enforced for a period of 7 (seven) days.

ODD Numbered Days:

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (Eg.1, 3, 5, 7, 9) shall be allowed to ply.

EVEN Numbered Days:

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (Eg 2, 4, 6, 8, 0) shall be allowed to ply.

The order is issued in exercise of power under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, and violation of this order will be liable to be penalised under Section 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, DC Kohima cautioned.
