Kohima: No face mask and social distancing in Kohima town, be ready to shell out fine of Rupees 100 to 200 in Kohima town

Kohima, July 01: Be ready to shell out fines, if you are not wearing face mask, not maintaining social distancing or spitting in public places in Kohima town. Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) reminded the public of Kohima town on mandatory and prohibitory orders within Kohima town.

The administrator of KMC, Shri Kovi Meyase, in a circular issued on June 29, reminded the public of Kohima town that the use of face mask and social distancing is mandatory and also spitting in public places is strictly prohibited during this hour of pandemic.

Any individual found violating the norms will be penalized under the Disaster Management Act section 51(b), as per MHA guidelines, it said.

Spitting in public places, not wearing face mask and failure to follow social distancing shall be imposed a fine of Rs. 100 each on the first instance and rs. 200 each for second instance, it added.

It is important to note that, Standard Operating Protocol has been issued for the safety of the public and to contain the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
