Kohima: MyKi umbrella launched for women vegetable vendors

Kohima, September 26 (NEx): Advisor Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resource Development, R Khing on September 25, launched Myki Umbrella, an initiative of WRD and distributed umbrellas to women vendors in recognition of their efforts in boosting our local economy.

Around 30 women vegetable vendors of high school area received MyKi umbrellas along with masks under the initiative of Department of Women Resource Development.

The advisor tweets, “In a humble way to encourage our women vendors during this pandemic, Women Resources Development under the leadership of HCM @Neiphiu_Rio, distributed Myki Umbrella in recognition of their effort boosting our local economy.”

During the launch of MyKi umbrella, Khing said that women are no longer considered unfit or weak rather they have achieved more than men and can compete at all fronts. He encouraged them to rise up and progress by investing more in the available resources of the state like handicrafts and become independent.

Commissioner and Secretary, Women Development Anenla T Sato said the department started this initiative with an aim to help and recognize women vegetable vendors during the pandemic. She also informed that such activity will continue and expressed hope to expand to other parts of the district.
