Kiphire District Ranked 2nd In 'Niti Aayog Delta Ranking Of Aspirational Districts'

Kohima, March 03 (NEx): In a proud moment for Nagaland, the Aspirational District, Kiphire has ranked second overall in the country in ‘Delta Monthly Ranking of Aspirational Districts’ by NITI Aayog for January 2021.

What makes this achievement commendable is, a big jump to 2nd rank from 112. In the NITI Aayog, District Overall Performance Delta Ranking for December 2020, Kiphire was ranked 112. In January 2021 Kiphire jumped to second spot in the NITI Aayog rank index.

Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Ajit Ranjan broke the news through a tweet and said, ‘Very gratifying to note that Kiphire has secured second position overall in the country in January 2021 NITI Aayog delta ranking of Aspirational Districts.

‘A big jump in Health sector from 112th rank to First Rank in the country. This is the best ever performance by Kiphire in delta ranking. Kudos to entire district team,’ DC Kiphire tweets.

CEO, NITI Aayog, Government of India, Amitabh Kant said, “Kiphire in Nagaland deserves special credit for improving livelihoods through the cultivation of a local kidney bean variety ‘Kholar’ and setting up tailoring units for women,” tweeted the CEO NITI Aayog on Tuesday.

Under Theme based Performance monthly delta ranking for January 2021, Kiphire district ranked first in Health & Nutrition theme, 20th in Education theme, 74th in Financial Inclusion & Skill Development theme, 90th in Basic Infrastructure theme and ranked 68th in Agriculture & Water Resources theme.

Percentage of ANC registered within the first trimester, Percentage of pregnant women (PWs) registered for ANCs, Percentage of children fully immunized (9-11 months), Tuberculosis (TB) case notification rate (Public and Private Institutions) as against estimated cases, TB treatment success rate among notified TB patients (public and private), Percentage of pregnant women regularly taking Supplementary Nutrition under the ICDS programme, Percentage of Pregnant women having severe anaemia treated, against PW having severe anaemia tested cases, Percentage of institutional deliveries to total estimated deliveries, Percentage of deliveries at home attended by an SBA (Skilled Birth Attendance) trained health worker to total home deliveries are the Indicators for Health & Nutrition theme in NITI Aayog Aspirational District delta ranking.

Besides Kiphire in Nagaland State which ranked second, Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh, Hailakandi in Assam, Chandel in Manipur are the other three Northeast districts which was ranked among top five by NITI Aayog for overall performance based on Monthly Delta Ranking for the month of January 2021.

The NITI Aayog Aspirational District Program was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018, which aims to quickly and effectively transform the districts.
