Jungle fire averted in Dimapur, Kohima & Noklak

Kohima, March 02 (NEx): The Fire and Emergency services department averted jungle fire in three separate incidents in Dimapur, Kohima and Noklak from further spread on Monday, March 01, 2021. Plantation and crops were destroyed in the incident, informed the R.O (F&ES).

Jungle Fire at Dimapur:

The Fire and Emergency Services informed that a Jungle fire ravaged plantation and crops at School of Agricultural Science and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Dimapur on Monday, March 1st, 2021.

The R.O(E) (F&ES) Kenny Khing said that a Fire call was received at 01:48 pm on March 1st, 2021 from School of Agricultural Science and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Dimapur.

Accordingly, the Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Ch├╝moukedima proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

Khing also informed that plantation and crops were destroyed in the inferno but due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading further. It took the fire team 3 hours to combat the fire.

The cause of fire could not be ascertain and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Kenyuyhun Kent, he added.

Jungle Fire at Kohima:

In another incident, the RO informed that the F&ES received a Fire call at 4:40 pm on Monday, from Meriema Village, below New High Court, Kohima.

The Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kohima (North) proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action, the RO said.

Due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading. It took the Fire Team nearly 2 hours to combat the fire.

The Cause of fire could not be ascertained and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Inaka, R.O added.

Jungle Fire at Noklak:

On the same day, the F&ES received a Fire call at 02:00 pm on Monday from KBCA Komking area, Noklak, the R.O informed.

Khing said that a detached team from Fire Station Tuensang stationed at Noklak proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

Due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading. It took the Fire Team 1 hour and 30 minutes to combat the fire, he said.

The cause of fire could not be ascertained and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Mziegwangteing, Khing added.
