Jungle fire averted in Dimapur & Kiphire

Kohima, March 05 (NEx): The Fire and Emergency services department averted jungle fire in two separate incidents at Dimapur and Kiphire on March 4th and 2nd, 2021 respectively.

Jungle Fire at Dimapur:

The fire and emergency services informed that a jungle fire was averted at 6th Mile, Sovima, Pesuozhü Ward, Dimapur on March 4th, 2021.

The R.O(E) (F&ES) Kenny Khing informed that a Fire call was received at 2:13 pm on March 4th, 2021 from 6th Mile, Sovima, Pesuozhü Ward, Dimapur.

Accordingly, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Chümoukedima proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

The fire was controlled and prevented from spreading due to timely information and response. It took Fire Team 23 minutes to combat the fire.

The cause of fire is due to clearing of garden and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Thangpong Khiamniungan, Khing said.

Jungle Fire at Kiphire:

In another incident, a jungle fire was avertes by the F&ES team at Loyola Campus (Catholic Cemetery), Kiphire on March 2nd, 2021.

The R.O informed that, on receiving a Fire call at 5:07 pm on March 2nd, 2021 from Loyola Campus (Catholic Cemetery), Kiphire, the Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kiphire proceeded to control the fire and Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.

The fire was controlled and prevented from burning the Farm and Rest House due to timely information and response. It took Fire Team 45 minutes to combat the fire, Khing said.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Tejongol Sophie, the R.O added.
