JCPI calls tribal bodies & CSOs for a peaceful rally against ILP/RIIN

Kohima, March 18 (NEx): The Joint Committee for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) called for a peaceful rally in connection with the Inner Line Permit/ Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (ILP/RIIN) on March 19th, 2021, as per the resolution made on March 12th by the JCPI along with the tribal apex bodies and CSOs.

The JCPI in a press release informed that there will be a peaceful rally and submission of representations to the Deputy Commissioner in Kohima and Dimapur in connection with ILP/RIIN. As for the other district headquarters, the committee appealed each tribal apex bodies to exercise their own wisdom and make a representation to their respective DCs, it said.

JCPI appealed all the Dimapur based tribal bodies and CSOs to kindly send their participants to the DC Court junction by 10 am on Friday, March 19th, 2021. After marching to the DC’s Office the representation shall be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, it said.

It also requested all major tribes along with Naga Tribal Union Chumoukedima Town(NTUCT) to send 200 participants each. The JCPI requested other tribes and CSOs to send atleast 50 participants each.

The committee requested the sons and daughters of the soil to be there and witness the important programme as the beginning of expressing their peaceful democratic protest and said that it will be a show of support and solidarity to wear ones traditional attire.
